Live Blackjack Tips
The first and most important tip we can give about blackjack is to practice, practice until you don't think you need to practice anymore, and then keep practising because you will always need to practice more. The games play very quickly so it can be quite easy to get lost in what you're doing which will start losing you money. Strategies to do with splitting, hitting and standing will come easily to a player who has practised them, but to a newcomer they can seem quite daunting, fortunately there will be a dealer to help you out if you need it.
The Art Of Counting Cards
The art of counting cards is not exclusive to just the mathematicians, in fact, anyone who has a decent memory (or a scrap of paper and a pen) and do it, you just need to have some practise first. When you're playing online live blackjack you're at a slight advantage as you can use gadgets or just a pen and paper to help you keep track of what cards have appeared; however as a good sport you might find this a bit unethical.
Just remember that card counting doesn't account for whether the cards will be dealt to you or the dealer, it only gives you an idea of what cards are more likely to appear. The cards aren't shuffled between deals, so by counting the cards that have appeared you will have a rough idea of what cards are left in the deck, and you can increase your bet when you think that it's likely you'll be dealt with a good hand.
Make Yourself At Home
Blackjack is one of the few casino games where the player has a reasonable chance of winning. Playing online with a live dealer is possibly better than playing at a casino because you will be in your own surroundings with a friendly live dealer, this will make your environment become a lot less stressful, especially when you are new to the game.
Even so, it is sometimes the case that you are not comfortable with the other players at the table or with the dealer for some reason and most authorities on the game will advise that in that case you should leave it for a bit and come back when you are feeling more confident. This is a live casino game, remember, and it should be fun.
Play a Lot, Then Play Some More
This doesn't have to mean online - although that will obviously give you the best all round experience of playing with live dealers - because there are loads of training packages available. Even playing at home will give you experience of when to split your hand when you are dealt a pair, double down by adding to your original bet etc. There are disadvantages as well as advantages in most strategies - for example in doubling down although you can increase your bet, it limits you to only one more card so has to be done with care - and the more experience you get the more fun you will have when you come to play on a site with a live dealer.
Playing Online or Offline
You don't necessarily have to play online, although this will give you the closest experience to what you should expect, especially when some casinos will allow you to try out blackjack for free. Even playing at home will let you learn techniques like splitting when you're dealt a pair or double down by adding to your original bet. For all strategies, there are always pros and cons, it's always best to go through every strategy and understand fully before you try to implement them when playing for money. Even if this means playing for free a little longer just so you can be sure you completely understand what you're doing.
